How To

How to Use StatsLogic

Everything you need to track your team's season — from first login to the final buzzer.

1

🏒 Find Your Team

  • StatsLogic is organized by associations — leagues, clubs, or organizations that manage one or more teams.
  • The home page lists every association. Click a card to see the teams within it.
  • Associations are also listed in the left sidebar — expand one to jump straight to any of its teams.
  • Each association and team can display its own logo, which appears in the sidebar and on the team's dashboard.
💡 Don't see your association? Use the Request a New Association banner on the home page — see section 3 for the full workflow. Only association leadership should submit a request.
2

🔐 Sign In & My Access

  • Click Sign In at the bottom of the sidebar. You can sign in with Google or with a StatsLogic account (email + password).
  • New here? Use Create an account on the sign-in page. Local accounts must confirm their email before they can sign in — check your inbox for the confirmation link.
  • Most team and association access is granted by invitation. Your team owner, association admin, or the site admin sends an invite to your email; clicking the link and signing in (with that same email) applies your role automatically.
  • After signing in, you land on your personal My Access page — one place that lists every association you administer and every team you have a role on, with your role shown per team and a quick-jump link for each.
  • A My Access link is always in the sidebar while you're signed in, so you can return to your dashboard of accesses from any page.
  • If a team admin shared a team code with you (View or Stat), you can also access that team without a sign-in — see section 4.

Sign-In Flow at a Glance

  1. Click Sign In in the sidebar — or open any invitation email you received and click the link
  2. Choose Sign in with Google, or enter your email and password
  3. If you don't have an account yet, click Create an account → confirm via the email link → sign in
  4. You'll land on My Access (or directly on the team / association the invite is for, if you opened an invite link)
💡 Invitations are email-bound — sign in with the same email address the invite was sent to. If you sign in with a different account, the invite will be left for the right person to claim later.
3

✉ Request a New Association

  • Leadership only. Use this flow only if you're the director, president, or another official leader — the contact info you submit becomes the association's admin record.
  • The site admin reviews every request and either approves it (you get an admin invite by email) or rejects it.
  • On approval, the association is created and you receive one email with an association-admin invite link.
  • That invite is email-bound — you must sign in with the email address you put on the request to claim admin access.

Step-by-Step Workflow

  1. From the home page, click the Request a New Association banner
  2. Fill in the request form (all required except Mailing Address):
    • Association Name
    • Director First & Last Name
    • Email Address — where the admin invite will be sent
    • Phone Number
    • Mailing Address — optional
  3. Click Submit Request → you land on a confirmation page
  4. Wait for the site admin to review your request
  5. If approved, check the email you provided for an association-admin invite from StatsLogic
  6. Click the invite link → if you already have a StatsLogic or Google account at that email, sign in. If not, click Create an account on the accept page and use the same email
  7. Once signed in, the invite applies automatically and you land on your new Association Admin page — ready to add teams and members
💡 If the invite email never arrives (delivery failure, etc.), the site admin can re-send a fresh invite for your email from the admin panel.

🔑 Roles & Access

Account-Based Roles (Persistent, Invite-Driven)

👁 Viewer
  • Browse team stats
  • View game history
  • Check player profiles
📊 Statistician
  • Everything in Viewer
  • Enter post-game stats
  • Use live game entry
  • Edit game records
⚙ Team Owner
  • Everything in Statistician
  • Manage roster & logo
  • Rotate view/stat codes
  • Invite & manage Viewers / Statisticians
⚙ Association Admin
  • Everything in Team Owner across all teams
  • Create teams & invite Team Owners
  • Edit association details & logo
  • Promote/demote/remove team members
  • Account roles are granted by invitation from the level above — the site admin invites association admins, association admins invite team owners, and team owners (or higher) invite statisticians and viewers.
  • Once your role is applied it's persistent — you don't need to re-enter anything; it lives on your account until removed by an admin.
  • Sign-in sessions stay active for two weeks of activity, with sliding renewal — you stay signed in across visits.

Team Codes (Anonymous, One-Off)

👁 View Code
  • Browse stats & games
  • No account required
📊 Stat Code
  • Browse + enter game stats
  • No account required
  • Each team has a View Code and a Stat Code. The team owner or association admin can share them and rotate them at any time.
  • Code sessions are not tied to an account — they're handy for one-off viewing or letting a bench statistician enter stats without setting up an account.
  • Click your team name in the sidebar, then enter the code on the team's sign-in page. The sidebar will show "{Team Name} — Viewer code" (or Stat code) while you're in.
  • To switch codes (e.g. Viewer → Stat on the same team), click Sign Out in the sidebar to clear the code session, then enter the new code.
  • Team Owner and Association Admin access are not available via codes — those roles require an account + invite.
💡 Teams you have a persistent role on show a green dot next to their name in the sidebar, and they all appear on your My Access page.
5

⚙ Association Admin

  • The Association Admin role is granted by the site admin (or another association admin) via an emailed invite.
  • Multiple people can hold the role for the same association — invite as many as you need.
  • You can edit association details, create/remove teams, manage every team's members, manage rosters, upload logos, and rotate team codes.

How to Get There

  1. Sign in → you land on My Access
  2. Click the association card under Associations you administer
  3. You can also reach it from the association's home page — click the Login / Association Admin button in the header

What an Association Admin Can Do

  1. Edit association details
    • Update name, director contact info, mailing address, logo
  2. Create & manage teams
    • Use Add New Team — team name and a team owner's email are both required, so every team starts with a designated owner
    • An invite is automatically emailed to the team owner; the team's View Code and Stat Code are generated and shown in the result banner
    • Per team you can rename, delete, upload a logo, rotate codes, and manage members (see section 6)
  3. Manage rosters
    • Add players with jersey number and role (skater / goalie)
    • Edit number, name, role on existing players
    • Remove players
  4. Manage team access
    • Click Manage Access in any team's card to invite/change/remove that team's members (see section 6)
💡 Association Admin only applies to your own association — it doesn't unlock other associations or the site admin panel.
6

👥 Manage Team Access

  • Every team has a Manage Access page that lists every account-based member of the team, with their role, and lets you invite new ones.
  • Team Owners reach it from the Team DashboardManage Access button.
  • Association Admins reach it from the Association Admin page → the Manage Access button on the team's card.

Who Can Do What

  1. Association Admin (or site admin)
    • Invite any role: Viewer, Statistician, or Team Owner
    • Change any member's role — including promoting an existing Viewer/Statistician to Team Owner
    • Remove any member
  2. Team Owner
    • Invite Viewers and Statisticians (cannot invite another Team Owner — only an association admin can)
    • Change/remove Viewers and Statisticians
    • Cannot modify or remove other Team Owners

Sending an Invite

  1. On Manage Access, find Invite someone at the bottom
  2. Pick a role from the dropdown, enter the person's email
  3. Click Create Invite — an email is sent and a copyable link appears in the result banner (good if email delivery fails)
  4. The invitee clicks the link, signs in (or creates an account) with the same email, and the role is applied automatically
  5. Invite links are valid for 7 days and are email-bound — only the addressed email can claim them
💡 Removing the only Team Owner is blocked — assign another owner first. This safeguard prevents a team from ending up with no one able to manage it.

📈 Your Team Dashboard

  • The stat grid at the top shows season totals — Goals, Assists, Shots, Shots Against, and Penalty Minutes.
  • The skater table lists every player's GP, G, A, Pts, Shots, +/−, PIM, PPG, SHG, and FO%.
  • The goalie table tracks GP, G, A, Pts, PIM, Shots Against, Saves, GA, Save %, and Shutouts — Saves and Save % are worked out from Shots Against and GA rather than entered — a goalie can pick up an assist on a well-timed pass, score into an empty net, and take a penalty, so those count the same as they do for a skater.
  • GP counts only the games a player actually dressed for. Anyone marked Out for a game is skipped, so a player who missed half the season is not credited with a full one.
  • The stat tables are long, so the ↓ Go to Games button at the top jumps straight down to the games list.
  • The games list shows every game newest first, with a result badge (W/L/T), date, opponent, and score. Click View Stats for the full box score.
  • Any game still in progress is pinned above the list with a ▶ Resume Live Entry button, so you never have to hunt for the game you are part-way through.
  • The green + New Game button sits beside the games list — next to what already exists, so you can see whether the game you need is already there.
  • Click any player name in the table to open their season profile with a game-by-game breakdown. Games they missed appear as Did not play.
💡 What you see adapts to your access level. Go to Games and Export to Excel are there for everyone; + New Game and the stat entry buttons on each game need Statistician+ (account role or Stat code); Manage Access and Team Admin need Team Owner+.
8

📋 Post-Game Stats Entry

  • Best used after the game when you have a full scoresheet in hand — enter everything at once.
  • Every skater and goalie on the roster gets a row. Leave unused columns at zero; they won't affect totals.
  • Tick Out for anyone who did not dress. Their row is cleared to zeros and the game does not count toward their GP.
  • The team score is calculated automatically from skater goals — you never enter it manually.
  • A game entered this way is saved as complete — it has already been played, so it never offers a live-entry button afterwards.
  • Requires Statistician+ access (account role) or a valid Stat Code.

Step-by-Step Workflow

  1. From your Team Dashboard, click ↓ Go to Games
  2. Check the games list first — if the game is already there, open it instead of making a second one
  3. Click the green + New Game button beside the games list
  4. Fill in the game header: Date, Opponent, and Home / Away
  5. Click Enter Full-Game Stats — the game is created and the entry grid opens
  6. Tick Out for any player who did not dress — leave the rest of their row alone, it is cleared for you
  7. Work through the skater table — one row per player:
    • G Goals  ·  A Assists  ·  S Shots  ·  +/− Plus-Minus
    • PIM Penalty Minutes in M:SS format — e.g., 2:00 for a standard minor
    • PPG Power Play Goals  ·  SHG Short-Handed Goals
    • FO Taken / FO Won Faceoff counts
  8. Fill in the goalie row:
    • Shots Against and Goals Against — Saves is calculated for you and shown in the column between them, so there is nothing to type there. Count every shot that reached the net in Shots Against, including the ones that went in
    • Also G, A and PIM, in the same columns the skaters use — leave them at zero for the usual game. The columns dashed out in between do not apply to a goalie.
    • There is no shutout box — a shutout is recorded automatically when a goalie who dressed finishes on 0 goals against
  9. Review the auto-calculated score at the top of the form — it should match the real result
  10. Click Save Changes to save the game
  11. To correct anything later: Team Dashboard → ↓ Go to Games → the game's Edit Game button
💡 Penalty minutes stack automatically — if a player took two minors, enter 4:00. You can also add partial minutes for misconducts (10:00) or game misconducts (17:00).
Clicking Enter Full-Game Stats creates the game straight away, so if you change your mind before entering anything, remove it with View Stats → Delete Game (Team Owner+) rather than leaving an empty game in the list.

▶ Live Game Entry

  • Designed for a tablet on the bench — large touch targets, no typing required.
  • Every tap saves instantly to the database. No Submit button, no risk of losing data.
  • Players who did not dress can be marked Out on their card, so the game does not count toward their GP.
  • The score updates live and is visible to anyone viewing the Team Dashboard at the same time.
  • Requires Statistician+ access (account role) or a valid Stat Code.

Step-by-Step Workflow

  1. From your Team Dashboard, click ↓ Go to Games
  2. Already started this game? Do not make a new one:
    • A game in progress is pinned above the games list — tap ▶ Resume Live Entry
    • If you reach the New Game page anyway, it warns you that a game is already open and links straight to it
  3. Otherwise click the green + New Game button beside the games list
  4. Fill in Date, Opponent, Home / Away and click ▶ Start Live Entry
  5. The live screen loads — the sticky header stays visible as you scroll:
    • Score bar (team name, live score, opponent) at the very top
    • Period buttons: P1  P2  P3  Final — tap to update the current period
    • Player number pad — jersey numbers for all skaters (grey) and goalies (green)
  6. Tap a player's jersey number in the number pad — the page jumps to their stat card
  7. For anyone who did not dress, tap Mark out on their card
    • The card dims, its buttons stop responding, and the game stops counting toward that player's GP
    • Anything already tapped in on that card is cleared — and a goalie who is out cannot pick up a shutout
    • Tap OUT again if they turn up after all
  8. Tap + to add a stat, to correct a mistake — each tap saves immediately
  9. A goalie card shows Shots Against, Saves and Goals Against. Only the outer two are tappable — Saves is calculated as Shots Against minus Goals Against, so tap Shots Against for every shot on net and Goals Against as well when one goes in. If the goalie picks up a point or a penalty, tap + Scoring & PIM on their card for Goals, Assists and the penalty chips
  10. For penalties, tap the matching duration chip: [1:00] [1:30] [2:00] [4:00] [5:00] [10:00]
    • The player's PIM total updates instantly
    • An undo chip appears to remove the last penalty if you tapped the wrong one
  11. Tap Final in the period bar when the game ends — stats are complete and visible on the Team Dashboard
  12. Click ✓ Complete Game in the top bar to close the game out
    • The game is locked: its live entry button is replaced on the dashboard by View Stats and Edit Game, so nobody reopens a finished game by mistake
    • To pick it back up, open Edit Game and untick Game Complete — live entry returns immediately
💡 Works best on a tablet in landscape mode. If you lose your connection mid-game, just reload — all saved taps are preserved and you continue right where you left off.
